Art Education Scholarships
The following scholarships are pertinent to art education students available through the Department of Art and Art History and the College of Liberal Arts (CLA).

SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE: MARCH 1

BOOKSTABER & GIARDINA ART EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP (Art and Art History) *

Amount: $2,300

GPA: 3.00

Financial Need: No
CRITERIA

  • Be an undergraduate student applying in the junior year and pursuing a degree in Art Education

  • Demonstrate great talent, excellent skills, and a strong commitment towards teaching of the visual arts in a school environment by submitting a written application during the spring semester of the junior year

  • Post to your on-line portfolio the following 3 items for consideration: a short essay (approx. 1 typewritten page) answering the following question: "Why do you wish to become a teacher? Please include your philosophy on education"; a portfolio of work as an art student at CSU; or, one sample lesson plan.

Undergraduate: Junior

ART EDUCATION AREA SCHOLARSHIP (Art and Art History) *

Amount: $1,000

GPA: None

Financial Need: No
CRITERIA

  • Be an undergraduate student applying in the junior year and pursuing a degree in Art Education

HIXON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP (College of Liberal Arts)

GPA: 3.00

Financial Need: Yes
CRITERIA

  • Recipient must be a full-time undergraduate in College of Liberal Arts majoring in English, dance or art


CLASS LEVEL

  • Undergraduate: Junior, Senior



JOHN AND PAT VENABLE CSUWA SCHOLARSHIP (College of Liberal Arts)

Amount: Variable

GPA: 3.00

Financial Need: Yes
CRITERIA

  • Recipient must be a full-time undergraduate in College of Liberal Arts majoring in Music, Theatre & Dance, the Visual Arts, or English


CLASS LEVEL

  • Undergraduate: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior



The following scholarships are pertinent to art education students available through the Center for Educator Preparation (CEP) and the College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS).

JOHN W. HAEFELI SCHOLARSHIP (Center for Educator Preparation)

Amount: $1,000

GPA: None

Financial Need: Yes
CRITERIA

  • Full-time students of any major enrolled in the teacher licensure program;

  • Demonstrate financial need as established by the Office of Student Financial Services of CSU

  • Resident of Colorado

  • Demonstrate a career goal of becoming a K-12 classroom teacher

  • Demonstrate participation in community service (both past and present)


CLASS LEVEL

  • Undergraduate: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior

  • Graduate

  • Transfer



FRANCES GIMPLOWITZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (Center for Educator Preparation)

Amount: $500

GPA: 2.50

Financial Need: Yes
CRITERIA

  • First-generation student, junior or senior

  • Enrolled in any major

  • Accepted and enrolled in the Teacher Licensure Program

  • Good academic standing

  • Strong character, as demonstrated by school and community service

  • Commitment to teaching diverse populations in public schools

  • Demonstrated interest in, understanding of, and experience with issues of

importance and value to women
CLASS LEVEL

  • Undergraduate: Junior, Senior


L. SHARON BLOCKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (Center for Educator Preparation)

Amount: $1,600

GPA: 3.00

Financial Need: Yes
CRITERIA

  • Must be in the year of student teaching

  • Work-study student preferred

  • Demonstrated community involvement (volunteer work with at-risk)


CLASS LEVEL

  • Undergraduate: Senior
